Katharina Stemberger about her class: "I want to invite you: to come closer to yourself by playing a role through a selected figure.

Whatever appeals to you, which ever character you choose: It could have more in common with yourself than you could possibly imagine. Together we will work on different scenes, humorous as well as dramatic. And we will certainly find the actor/actress in us. Dreamy. Playful. Courageous.

Or, would you simply prefer to feel more confident on stage? Delivering a lecture, a presentation or speech? Together, we will discuss these themes and, by practicing playful exercises, reach the goal of being more comfortable in front of an audience."

Katharina Stemberger

Was born in Vienna and lives in Vienna and London. Before she dedicated herself to being an actress she studied cello in Vienna as well as in Salzburg. If  one asked her  what exactly her profession is, she would answer: “No matter if I am acting in a theatre play, or in a film or if I am reciting – I am always telling the people a story – this means, I am a story-teller!”

Her repertoire includes TV entertainment e. g. Der Winzerkönig (The king of the wintners)Soko KitzbühelZwei Väter einer Tochter (Two fathers of one doughter)  as well as character parts for all TV stations in German language  Brennendes Herz (Burning heart)  Der BockererAm Seil (On the rope)  but also main roles on theatre stages, such as Saint Joan in George Bernard Shaw’s play Saint Joan , Yvette in Bertold Brecht’s  Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder (Mother Courage and her children)  or Jugend (Youth) in Ferdinand Raimund’s The girl from the land of the Fairies (Das Mädchen aus der Feenwelt)  or The farmer as a millionaire (Der Bauer als Millionär). Moreover she appeared – in collaboration with her mother Christa, her father in law Kurt Schwertsik and her sister Julia – as an actress as well as a producer in The Mikado or One day in Titipu by Gilbert and Sullivan,  Abduhenendas missratene Töchter  (Abduhenendas illbred doughters)  by Fritz von Herzmanovsky-Orlando and Tannhäuser oder Die Keilerei auf der Wartburg (Tannhäuser or Fisticuffs at Wartburg Castle) by Johann Nestroy. In 2012 she had a tremendous success in the main role of Die Päpstin (The female Pope) directed by Alexander Hauer. The same year her solo program Wieviel ist das in Schuhen? (How much is this in shoes?)  with texts by  Ildikó von Kürthy und Sophie Kinsella started. Katharina Stemberger has been on stage in London and guarantees for a full house when she appears in Vienna’s English Theatre, e. g. in God of Carnage or in Agatha Christies Witness for the Prosecution – two plays representing the broad range of her artistic skills.

2013 Katharina Stemberger was invited by Salzburg Festival to participate in the new and fanciful production of Jedermann by Hofmannsthal, directed by Julian Crouch und Brian Mertes. Since 2014 she also is a moderator for the station Servus TV in the Salzburg Festival Matinee. A large number of audience attended her performance of Abra (text by Doron Rabinovic , directed by Jaqueline Kornmüller) at Kunsthistorisches Museum  in Vienna (Museum of the History of the Arts). This was part of the production Ganymed Goes Europe .

Katharina Stemberger is also a professor at Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien (Vienna Conservatory). She engages herself in social as well as medical projects. Since 2012 she also produces her own films in order to communicate European ideals and thoughts. She can be seen as an excellent networker.

Being a story-teller – that‘s her life!
